Housing costs can be a significant expense for many Americans, but the Mesa Homeowners Card aims to alleviate some of that financial burden. This $0-annual-fee card offers rewards on a variety of home-related expenses, including mortgage payments, home improvement, decor, utilities, insurance, and more.
Here are five key things to know about the Mesa Homeowners Card.
1. Earn rewards on your mortgage payments

With the Mesa Homeowners Card, you can earn one Mesa Point per $1 spent on your mortgage payment. The maximum points you can earn in a calendar year for mortgage payments is 100,000 points, equivalent to monthly payments of up to $8,333. To qualify for rewards on your mortgage payments, you must make $1,000 in purchases each month.
Instead of using the credit card to pay your mortgage, you link your bank account (from which you make mortgage payments) to the Mesa app. Mesa will track your payments and reward you accordingly.
2. Other spending categories earn rewards, too
In addition to rewards on mortgage payments, you’ll also earn points for:
-
3 Mesa Points per $1 on home-related spending, such as home decor, home improvement, maintenance, cable and streaming services, insurance, property taxes, and utilities.
-
2 Mesa Points per $1 on groceries, gas, and electric vehicle charging, excluding purchases at warehouse clubs and big box stores.
-
1 Mesa Point per $1 on all other purchases.
It’s important to note that the Mesa Homeowners Card currently has an APR above 25%. If you plan to make significant purchases on the card, ensure you pay off the balance by the monthly due date to avoid high interest charges.
3. Redeem points in a variety of ways
You can redeem your rewards in the Mesa app for statement credits, gift cards, and travel. Depending on your chosen redemption option, there may be minimum or maximum redemption requirements.
The value of your points may vary based on the redemption method you select.
4. Enjoy multiple annual credits
Although there’s no sign-up bonus, Mesa Homeowners Cardholders can benefit from over $800 in value through specific statement credits:
-
$65 annually towards an eligible retailer membership like Sam’s Club.
-
$200 per year for home maintenance services booked through Thumbtack.
-
$120 annually for pet care services via Wag!, which includes walks, pet sitting, and boarding.
-
$120 per year for pet food purchases and subscriptions from The Farmer’s Dog.
-
$100 credit towards your first home warranty claim through Armadillo.
-
$100 gift card to Cozy Earth, a retailer specializing in ethically produced bedding and loungewear.
-
$100 home improvement credit.
If you frequently shop at these specific merchants, you can maximize the benefits of the Mesa Homeowners Card. However, keep in mind that some of these credits may require significant spending to fully utilize the benefits.
5. There are some limitations
Points can only be earned on one mortgage, even if you have multiple homes and make multiple mortgage payments from the same account. Additionally, if you share a joint mortgage with your partner, only one cardholder per household can earn points on mortgage payments from a shared account.
It’s essential to understand these limitations to make the most of your Mesa Homeowners Card benefits.
