Coming To San Fran? Viral Video Shows ‘Sub-Lethal’ Remote Gun Protecting Commercial Building

South Africa has been ranked third in Africa on the Global Organized Crime Index, with cities like Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban being labeled as some of the most dangerous in the country due to high levels of violent crime, carjackings, robberies, and murders.

In response to the South African government’s inability to protect its citizens and businesses from the rampant chaos, a local company called Sublethal has developed a non-lethal remote control gun that is mounted on light poles to shoot intruders. This innovative weapon fires standard .68 caliber paintballs with solid nylon bullets or pepper balls.

According to Sublethal, the remote-control gun is commonly used in security situations in South Africa and internationally where non-lethal force is necessary. A video showcasing the weapon in action in South Africa recently went viral, gaining over 5 million views.

Sublethal emphasizes that the remote gun will not shoot autonomously, as it is controlled either from a central command center or the user’s cellphone, ensuring that a human makes the decision to fire. With the increasing need for effective security measures, it is likely that this non-lethal remote-control gun will soon be implemented in commercial yards across the US, especially given the current concerns surrounding law and order enforcement.
