5 Things to Know About the Turkish Airlines Credit Card

Turkish Airlines is known for its extensive network, flying to 129 countries around the world. However, when it comes to their credit card, the Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles Premier Visa Signature, issued by First Electronic Bank, falls short in terms of perks and benefits.

Here are five key points to consider about this credit card:

1. Lack of Perks:
The Turkish Airlines card lacks the enticing perks and benefits that other airline credit cards offer. If you’re willing to pay an annual fee, you may find better value with cards like the United Explorer Card, which offers perks like free checked bags, lounge passes, trip insurance, and more.

2. Valuable Sign-Up Bonus:
New cardholders can earn a sign-up bonus of 40,000 miles after spending $3,000 within 90 days of account opening. These miles are valued at approximately $440, providing a decent reward for new cardholders.

3. Rewards on Flights and Everyday Spending:
The Turkish Airlines card earns unlimited 3x miles on Turkish Airlines flights and purchases, 2x miles on dining, groceries, entertainment, and lodging, and 1x miles on all other purchases. However, miles expire after three years.

4. Redemption Options:
Miles earned with the Turkish Airlines card can be redeemed for goods from Shop&Miles, services from program partners, and access to select airport lounges. Additionally, as a member of the Star Alliance, miles can be used to book flights on various partner airlines.

5. Alternative Redemption Methods:
Interestingly, you don’t necessarily need the Turkish Airlines card to book award flights. The airline is a transfer partner for Capital One Miles, Citi ThankYou Points, and Bilt Rewards, allowing you to convert their currencies into Turkish Airlines miles. This provides more flexibility in redeeming rewards compared to a co-branded airline card.

Overall, while the Turkish Airlines credit card may not offer the most robust benefits currently, there is potential for improvements in the future. Consider your travel needs and preferences to determine if this card aligns with your goals.
