5 Things to Know About the New York Yankees Credit Card

The New York Yankees credit card is a homerun for die-hard fans of the Major League Baseball team. Issued by Bread Financial (also known as Comenity Bank), this $0-annual-fee card offers promotions and benefits tailored for frequent Yankees-game attendees. It also rewards everyday spending. However, if you’re looking for more flexible rewards and redemption options, along with more baseball-related perks, a card issued by Capital One (MLB’s official bank and credit card partner) might be a better fit.

Here are five key things to know about the New York Yankees Mastercard:

1. Yankees fans can earn solid rewards:
– 5x points at Yankee Stadium concession stands
– 3x points at restaurants, bars, gas stations, rideshare, and mass transit
– 1x points on all other purchases

While the rewards are earned as Pinstripe points instead of cash back, the value is good. Every 100 points equal $1, making each point worth a BW Reader. This can add up quickly for frequent visitors to Yankee Stadium.

2. Cash-back redemption is flexible:
– Pinstripe points can be redeemed for cash back via direct deposit or statement credit, starting at $1 or 100 points.
– Statement credits may take up to six business days to post, and points expire after five years.

3. Other redemption options have specific requirements:
– Cardholders can redeem points for Yankees game tickets, memorabilia, and experiences.
– Game ticket redemptions have no minimum points requirement but come with specific stipulations.
– Memorabilia and experiences have varying costs depending on the item or experience.

4. Special promotions for new applicants:
– New cardholders can earn two free tickets by spending $100 on the card within 30 days of account opening.
– A $50 statement credit is available for spending $1,000 outside of Yankee Stadium.

5. It may not compare to simple cash back:
– While the New York Yankees credit card offers decent rewards, other cash-back card options may provide more flexibility.
– Capital One’s MLB partnership offers a wider range of baseball-related redemption options, including discounts, VIP experiences, and more.

Consider the Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card, which earns 3% cash back on dining, eligible streaming services, grocery stores, and entertainment – including sporting events. With 8% back on Capital One Entertainment purchases, you can maximize your rewards and enjoy additional MLB-related benefits.
