A luxurious yacht, famously featured in the James Bond movie “Never Say Never Again,” and previously owned by former President Trump, collided with a pier at a port in Tunisia last week. The 281 ft superyacht, known as “Kingdom 5KR” (formerly “Nabila”), reportedly experienced a mechanical issue while attempting to dock, resulting in significant damage to the bow. SuperYacht Times stated that an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the incident, with speculation pointing to a mechanical failure or miscommunication.

Originally constructed in 1980 for Saudi billionaire Adnan Khashoggi at a cost of $100 million (equivalent to $382 million in 2024), the yacht has had a storied history. After changing hands several times, including ownership by the Sultan of Brunei and President Trump who renamed it “Trump Princess,” the yacht eventually ended up in the possession of Saudi businessman Al-Waleed bin Talal, who renamed it back to Kingdom 5KR.

The yacht’s journey from Hollywood film sets to real-life mishaps continues to capture attention, with social media buzzing about the recent incident in Tunisia. Despite the setbacks, the allure and glamour of this iconic vessel remain intact, making it a fascinating piece of maritime history.
