Colombia stocks lower at close of trade; COLCAP down 1.74%

Colombia stocks closed lower on Friday, with losses in various sectors leading shares down.

At the close of trading, the Colombia Index lost 1.74%.

Top performers of the session included Canacol Energy Ltd, which rose 5.32%, Cementos Argos SA, up by 3.21%, and Grupo Nutresa SA, which gained 1.94%.

On the other hand, Cementos Argos Pf, Ecopetrol SA, and Interconnection Electric SA ESP were among the worst performers of the day.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombia Stock Exchange.

Ecopetrol SA shares hit a 3-year low, declining by 2.35%.

In commodities trading, US coffee prices dropped, while US cocoa and December Gold Futures also saw declines.

USD/COP and BRL/COP exchange rates saw slight increases, while the US Dollar Index Futures rose by 0.43%.
