Located in the heart of North Lake Tahoe in Olympic Valley, California, Everline Resort & Spa is a favorite for skiers. With direct access to Palisades Tahoe through the resort’s dedicated ski lift, the location makes it easy to hit the slopes during the day and unwind at the spa in the evening. It features multiple dining options, a 150-foot waterslide, year-round heated pools and a championship golf course for summer visitors.
Everline, a Destination by Hyatt property, offers reasonable midweek prices and easy access to what I consider the best overall ski resort in California. Travelers can also book their stay with World of Hyatt points, which could be a great way to save when the cash price increases over weekends or holidays.
I visited Everline in January 2025 during a multiweek snowboarding trip around Lake Tahoe. Although the hotel covered the cost of my stay and food, all the opinions expressed in this review are my own and were not influenced by the resort.
Location
The Everline Resort and Spa enjoys a prime location within the scenic Olympic Valley, located just south of Truckee, California and 45 minutes from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport in Reno, Nevada. That access to Truckee provides plentiful options for après-ski (after-ski activities) and dining away from the property. Beyond snow sports, the area is a haven for year-round recreation, with opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing and golfing around nearby Lake Tahoe.
Visitors flying into Reno can easily access Everline by making a reservation on the North Lake Tahoe Express, a shuttle service that connects the airport with North Lake Tahoe. As of this writing, that service ranges between $99 and $140 per person.
Once you arrive at Everline, the resort and greater area is served by two free, on-demand rideshare programs called TART Connect and Mountaineer. TART Connect provides free rides within the broader North Lake Tahoe area, whereas Mountaineer provides more localized service between the Olympic Valley and Alpine Meadows. I used Mountaineer twice during my stay to access Palisades Village and a nearby restaurant, which saved me almost $100 in Uber costs.
Rooms
The resort comprises 405 guest rooms, including standard deluxe king and queen rooms, suites with in-room fireplaces and up to three beds, and penthouse suites. You can also select between rooms with a forest view or valley view.
I stayed in a valley view fireplace suite with a king bed located right above the “Resort Chair” ski lift, which provides easy access to Palisades Tahoe. These rooms are equipped with a gas fireplace, sleeper sofa and kitchenette with two-burner stovetop and dishwasher. The alpenglow through the window during the morning sunrise was a sight to behold, and the fireplace made the room feel really cozy against the snowy mountain backdrop.
The bedroom was basic and a bit cramped given the odd angle of one of the walls. But there was plenty of storage space for clothes and bags in the dresser and bedroom closet, with an additional closet by the front door.
The bathroom was spacious and included a dedicated shower and bath tub.
