Exciting news for potential Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card customers! A new welcome bonus of 100,000 points is up for grabs starting April 2, 2025. To qualify, you’ll need to spend $5,000 within the first 3 months of opening your account.

This offer represents a 40,000-point increase from the previous promotion, although the spending requirement has also gone up by $1,000.

BW rating

BW’s ratings are determined by our editorial team. The scoring formula incorporates coverage options, customer experience, customizability, cost and more.

Previously, the 100,000-point bonus was exclusive to in-person applications at Chase branches, but it’s now also available for online applicants.

Opportunities like this one for the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card don’t come around often. In June 2021, the bonus was 100,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards® points with a $4,000 spend requirement. More recently, in October 2024, a dual bonus allowed for over $1,000 in value, combining a $300 travel credit with 60,000 points for spending $4,000 in three months.

When redeemed for travel through Chase, the new bonus is worth $1,250. Alternatively, you can transfer the points to Chase’s travel partners.

Complete list of Chase transfer partners

  • Air France-KLM (1:1 ratio).

  • British Airways (1:1 ratio).

  • Virgin Atlantic (1:1 ratio).

  • InterContinental Hotels Group (1:1 ratio).

Aside from the new bonus, the card’s features remain unchanged. You’ll still earn:

  • 5 points per $1 on travel booked through Chase.

  • 3 points per $1 on dining, including takeout and eligible delivery services.

  • 3 points per $1 on online grocery purchases (excluding Target, Walmart, and wholesale clubs) and select streaming services.

  • 2 points per $1 on other travel purchases.

  • 1 point per $1 on all other purchases.

Additionally, you’ll receive $50 in annual statement credits for hotel bookings made through Chase. Each year on your card anniversary, you’ll get a point bonus equivalent to 10% of your previous year’s spending. The card’s annual fee remains $95.
