Q: Can you share a bit about yourself?

Living in New Orleans, Mike works as a valet downtown and also drives for Uber during the day. He enjoys the interactions with different people and the vibrant atmosphere of the city.

Q: What was your initial reaction when you found out you won?

Mike described the moment as surreal and almost shocking. The timing of the win couldn’t have been better, coming at a time when he needed it the most.

Q: Who will you share the news with first?

His immediate plan is to inform his father and sister, as his family has faced numerous challenges in recent years. Mike hopes to support them through their difficulties with this unexpected windfall.

Q: How do you intend to utilize the prize money?

With a renewed sense of hope, Mike plans to invest in his education by returning to school to pursue a career in nursing, particularly in oncology. He hopes to make a positive impact and help those in need.

The majority of the funds will go towards student loans and educational expenses.

Q: What were your main financial concerns before winning?

Mike’s primary financial worries included student loans, credit card debt, car payments, living expenses, and rent, with student loans being the most pressing issue.

Q: What aspect of this win do you cherish the most at this moment?

Mike values his family above all else and appreciates the support they have provided. He also expresses gratitude towards organizations like BW for their generosity and assistance.
