Oobit delivers secure, controlled spending access for AI agents with Agent Cards launch

Oobit, a crypto payments platform backed by stablecoin giant Tether, has introduced Agent Cards, a virtual Visa product that enables AI agents to have direct, programmable spending authority without the need for human approval on each transaction or exposing corporate card details to automated systems.

With the increasing use of AI agents in various business operations, from marketing automation to SaaS management, the launch of Agent Cards comes at a crucial time.

According to McKinsey’s State of AI 2025 survey, a significant percentage of organizations are either scaling or experimenting with agentic systems within their operations.

Despite the benefits of automation, payments have remained a challenge for businesses, as traditional methods do not support AI agents handling corporate cards. The Oobit Agent Card addresses this issue effectively.

How does Oobit solve the AI payments problem?

Agent Cards allow businesses to issue dedicated virtual Visa cards for each AI agent, funded directly from a USDT stablecoin treasury without the need for fiat conversion.

Companies can set spend policies during setup and enforce them server-side, ensuring that agents comply with the designated rules.

Agent Cards incorporate three control mechanisms:

  • Each agent receives its own card for identity and audit trail purposes.
  • Category-level spend control limits transactions to relevant merchant categories.
  • Hard transaction caps per transaction and per merchant prevent overrides.

Real-time transaction logging provides transparency and eliminates manual reconciliation queues, enhancing efficiency for finance teams managing automated operations.

What are the benefits of Agent Cards for businesses?

Oobit has tailored the initial launch around two primary integration use cases:

  • Payments processing for subscription billing and vendor payouts.
  • Automated expense reporting for streamlined financial tracking.

Additionally, Agent Cards support various practical applications, such as stock purchases, travel bookings, and real-time purchases based on specific price conditions.

The setup wizard enables businesses to activate Agent Cards quickly, with cards live in under three minutes.

Oobit’s infrastructure as a proof-of-concept

Oobit’s extensive reach across millions of merchants in numerous countries, combined with the backing of Tether, lends credibility to Agent Cards as the leading solution for businesses with stablecoin treasuries.

Amram Adar, CEO of Oobit, emphasized the importance of Agent Cards in enabling autonomous financial operations without compromising control.

The product is available to crypto-native businesses using AI agents with stablecoin treasuries and companies exploring stablecoin payments in their financial setup.
