Can Bulls Push Toward $90K?

Bitcoin has surged past the $84,000 resistance level and is currently hovering around $85,000, thanks to a significant increase in buying pressure that has sparked a broader market rally. Binance has reported a massive surge in net taker volume, reaching $618 million, while short liquidations have further fueled Bitcoin’s upward momentum. This breakout has strengthened Bitcoin’s short-term outlook, but traders are now facing a crucial test around the $88,761 two-year moving average. If Bitcoin can sustain its move beyond this level, we could see the price target of $90,000 come into focus.

The recent rally in Bitcoin has been accompanied by a sharp increase in net taker volume on Binance, indicating aggressive derivatives activity. On-chain data shows a rapid rise in net taker volume from $11 million to $618 million within an hour, signaling a sudden surge in aggressive buying activity. This surge in buying pressure has coincided with significant short liquidations across the crypto market, as bearish positions are being forcibly closed, potentially accelerating Bitcoin’s upward move.

However, it is important to note that liquidation-driven momentum does not guarantee sustained spot accumulation. Bitcoin will need continued demand beyond the initial short squeeze to establish a more sustainable recovery. The current bullish structure will be preserved if Bitcoin can hold above the $84,000-$84,500 support zone, with the $88,761 two-year moving average and the psychological $90,000 resistance as the next major technical levels to watch.

The recent price move above $84,000 reflects strong short-term buying pressure, but sustained participation beyond derivatives-driven liquidations is needed for the rally to continue. Reclaiming the one-year moving average has improved the technical backdrop for Bitcoin, and the approaching two-year moving average will be key in determining whether the recovery can extend further. Continued volume and stable demand will be crucial to support the breakout narrative, while fading buying pressure could leave Bitcoin vulnerable to consolidation near higher resistance levels.
