Avalanche has recently unveiled a cutting-edge privacy solution, launched on September 16, 2026, that empowers users to securely store, send, and receive supported digital assets while keeping transaction details confidential on the network.
Enhancing Privacy with Advanced Technology
This innovative technology, developed by blockchain platform $COTI, introduces confidential transaction processing to the Avalanche Network. According to $COTI, all transaction information remains encrypted throughout the process, ensuring that blockchain-based applications can handle sensitive data securely.
To achieve this level of privacy, $COTI utilizes Multi-Party Computation and leverages Garbled Circuits cryptography. This approach enables multiple parties to compute encrypted data collaboratively without revealing any underlying information. The transactional data input is processed off-chain, with only an encrypted output shared on the blockchain.
Users can decrypt their transaction information locally through their client, ensuring that actual transaction amounts are never publicly visible on the blockchain.
Garbled Circuits is a cryptographic method used in secure multi-party computation, allowing parties to jointly compute a function over their inputs while maintaining privacy.
While the $COTI solution is fully operational, parts of its documentation still mention the Fuji testnet, indicating ongoing development and enhancements.
Janus Henderson Joins as Validator
Another significant development for Avalanche is the addition of Janus Henderson, a global asset manager with assets totaling around $500 billion, as a validator on the network. This partnership strengthens the platform’s security and resilience.
By participating as a validator, Janus Henderson contributes to governance and consensus mechanisms, bolstering Avalanche’s position as a hub for tokenized finance and onchain credit solutions.
Janus Henderson is also involved in Tranched, a credit platform focusing on onchain financial markets. The asset manager holds an equity stake in Tranched and will support its issuance activities, showcasing a commitment to integrating traditional finance infrastructure with blockchain technology.
Tranched currently manages approximately $300 million in onchain assets and has over $3 billion in active deal pipeline, as per the announcement.
Institutional Demand for Blockchain Privacy
These recent developments highlight the increasing demand from financial institutions for solutions that balance transparency and privacy on public blockchains. Institutions often require transaction confidentiality, while public blockchains have traditionally emphasized open visibility.
The privacy features offered by $COTI aim to bridge this gap by keeping sensitive financial activity confidential while leveraging the transparency and security of blockchain systems.
Furthermore, institutional involvement as validators and stakeholders signifies a step towards connecting traditional financial markets with blockchain-based infrastructure.
By integrating confidentiality technology and attracting major asset managers as validators, Avalanche is aligning itself to meet institutional demands for privacy, security, and robust financial infrastructure on public blockchain networks.
