Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino underwent a $200 million renovation and reopened in July 2026 on the South Shore in Stateline, Nevada. The hotel promises a “bold new era” of design-forward luxury. I recently stayed there for two nights to see if the renovations lived up to the hype.
Caesars Republic is considered a mid-priced hotel in the area. It is more affordable than the luxurious Edgewood Tahoe Resort but pricier than most other nearby casino hotels. Room rates at Caesars Republic start at under $100 in the low season and can exceed $400 in the peak season.
While the hotel is one of the more design-forward properties in the area, my experience felt like a mixed bag. Some aspects were fabulous, such as the dining experiences, while others fell short. The public spaces, restaurants, gym, pool, and parts of the room were well-designed for modern travelers. However, there were some missed details like dilapidated TV consoles and peeling wallpaper that detracted from the overall elegance of the updates. Despite these flaws, considering the price point, Caesars Republic is still a great place to stay and offers good value in Lake Tahoe.
