If you’re an aviation enthusiast like I am, you’ll want to put Hotel Polaris on your bucket list.
Located just outside the gates of the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, this 375-room hotel offers a unique perk: flight simulator experiences. The aviation fun extends beyond the simulators to the art, room decor and even the architecture, all taking inspiration from the nearby academy.
The room had white walls with walnut accents, and the bathroom had deep blue walls resembling the night sky. The bed was comfortable, and I enjoyed watching the sunrise over the Rampart Range from my window each morning. The bedroom featured artwork like a constellation map and black-and-white airplane prints. The hotel also left plane-shaped chocolates and a paper airplane folding instructions as welcome gifts. The hotel’s main restaurant, Pamela’s, served delicious food, but it was a bit pricey. Thunderbird Bar offered cocktails with a view of the mountains. The Aviator rooftop bar looked like a great place for drinks, and Doolie’s served hot dogs, burgers, and shakes. The hotel had a well-equipped gym overlooking the heated pool and lounge chairs. The pool area had a bar serving food, and next to the gym was Ascend Spa & Wellness, where I enjoyed a hot stone therapy massage. However, the spa lacked a sauna, steam room, or hot tub. Overall, Hotel Polaris is worth the stay. following sentence:
