The Cheapest Disney Tickets Didn’t Budge, But Dining Costs More

Disney recently hiked ticket prices for certain dates to visit its U.S. parks, a common occurrence in October. While the cheapest ticket prices remained the same, the cost of sit-down dining at Disney parks has been steadily increasing over the past three years.

Although prices for middle-tier days saw a rise, the cheapest one-day ticket at Disneyland remains at $104, the same as in 2019. Similarly, the cheapest Walt Disney World ticket is still $119, unchanged from the previous year.

However, table-service meals at Disneyland and Walt Disney World have seen an 18.7% increase in prices since 2023, surpassing the 12.2% rise in “food away from home” prices nationwide recorded by the Bureau of Labor Statistics during the same period.

Disney’s strategy involves keeping ticket prices stable while raising prices for additional services. According to Hugh Johnston, chief financial officer at The Walt Disney Company, this approach allows Disney to attract young families with lower ticket prices during off-peak seasons and then offer premium experiences like Lightning Lane, VIP tours, and upscale restaurants to visitors with more financial flexibility.

The biggest price hikes are seen in the higher-end restaurants at Disney parks.

Disney’s Table-Service Price Hikes

For families visiting Disney, the increases in table-service prices can add up quickly.

Examples include the Tiffins Signature Bread Service, now priced at $20, a 25% increase from three years ago. Similarly, the filet mignon at The Hollywood Brown Derby went from $49 to $59, a 20.4% increase.

Kevin Quigley, an author and co-host of the Thirty20Eight Disney podcast, explains that guests are willing to pay higher prices for table-service meals due to the premium experience they offer.

Boozy Drinks Cost More, Too

Alcoholic drinks at Disney parks have also become more expensive, with an average increase of 14.3% over the past few years.

Today’s price is $9.99, which is a 25% increase from before. following sentence:
