Is the One Key+ Card Worth Its Annual Fee?

Expedia and Wells Fargo have introduced two new travel credit cards associated with the One Key loyalty program for Expedia, Hotels.com, and Vrbo. The Expedia credit cards and Hotels.com credit card are no longer available.

The two new cards are the One Key Card, which has a $0 annual fee, and the One Key+ Card, which has a $99 annual fee. Both cards earn 3% rewards when booking through Expedia, Hotels.com, or Vrbo, and 3% rewards on dining, gas, and groceries.

The One Key+ Card offers elevated benefits compared to the One Key Card, including 2% OneKeyCash on purchases outside of bonus categories, automatic Gold elite status with the possibility of earning Platinum, and a $100 OneKeyCash bonus upon renewal.

If you’re considering getting one of the new One Key credit cards, the choice between the no annual fee version and the $99 annual fee version depends on how often you use Expedia, Hotels.com, or Vrbo to book your travel. The One Key+ Card is the best option for travelers who plan to make at least one booking each year. The $99 annual fee is covered by the $100 OneKeyCash renewal bonus.

The One Key+ Card also offers a larger welcome bonus and earns 33% more rewards on everyday spending compared to the One Key Card. Additionally, cardholders receive automatic elite status and various travel benefits, including primary rental car protection, no foreign transaction fees, and trip cancellation/interruption insurance.

Overall, the One Key credit cards provide an opportunity to earn rewards and elite status perks when booking travel through Expedia Group’s online travel agencies. If you’re unsure about the value of individual hotel loyalty programs, using one of these new credit cards may be a more flexible and rewarding option.

Please note that the information related to the One Key Card, One Key+ Card, and Hotels.com® Rewards Visa® Credit Card has been collected by BW and has not been reviewed or provided by the issuer or provider of this product or service.
