Stellantis to recall 332,000 U.S. vehicles over faulty seat belt buckle sensors By Reuters

Stellantis has issued a recall for 332,000 Alfa Romeo, Jeep, and Fiat vehicles in the United States due to faulty seat belt sensors, as reported by Reuters. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced the recall on Wednesday, citing concerns that a seat belt buckle switch sensor may be improperly connected, potentially preventing the front seat airbag from deploying as intended.

Dealers will address the issue by repairing the connection at no cost, according to the NHTSA. The recall affects specific models, including the 2017-2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia, 2018-2025 Alfa Romeo Stelvio, 2019-2023 Fiat 500X, Jeep Renegade, and 2024 Fiat 500E.

Stellantis, formed through the merger of Fiat Chrysler and PSA Group, is recognized as one of the largest automakers globally.
