According to OpenAI, SearchGPT will provide users with a more intuitive search experience, allowing them to ask questions to refine a search just like they would with ChatGPT.
OpenAI’s ChatGPT has recently unveiled a search engine, potentially positioning itself as a competitor to Google.
In a notice dated July 25, the ChatGPT website featured a section for ‘SearchGPT,’ a prototype that aims to leverage AI models to provide users with quick answers from relevant sources.
Although not accessible to all users at the moment, SearchGPT is currently gathering feedback from a select group before its full launch.
According to the platform, the search results on SearchGPT will be more visually engaging compared to Google and will allow users to ask follow-up questions to further refine their search.
Additionally, SearchGPT has established partnerships with publishers and creators to ensure that relevant sources are cited in the search results.
“While this prototype is temporary, we intend to incorporate the best features of SearchGPT directly into ChatGPT in the future,” stated OpenAI.
