A Free-Market Guide To Trump’s Immigration Crackdown

President-elect Donald Trump campaigned on promises to crackdown on immigration and deport foreign nationals. This resonated with many Americans who were frustrated with taxpayer-funded benefits for migrants while facing economic challenges. Trump is expected to prioritize his immigration crackdown, but concerns arise about federal law enforcement’s history of violating Americans’ rights.

While some aspects of Trump’s immigration policy are necessary, like cutting off funding for migrants and deporting criminals, other measures could lead to an expansion of the federal police state. The focus should be on limiting migration while respecting property rights. Subsidized immigration attracts migrants to the US, leading to the need for stricter policies. Trump administration should cut off all federal funding for migrants and privatize the immigration process.

Access to citizenship should be limited, with a waiting period of at least a decade. Birthright citizenship should be abolished to prevent abuse. Mass deportations should not be the focus, as they could lead to violations of citizens’ rights. Instead, self-deportation should be encouraged. Harassing residents based on their appearance or internal checkpoints violate rights and should be avoided.

While some measures like ending federal funding for immigrants are necessary, others like mass investigations and intrusive policies raise concerns. Building a wall and deporting criminals are reasonable steps, but violating citizens’ rights in the process is not acceptable. The key is to find a balance between enforcing immigration laws and respecting individual rights.
