It is time for a verbal detox to accompany our physical detox: we must cleanse our bloated vocabulary of certain concepts that are poisoning our understanding of ourselves and the world.
These concepts have been articulated by individuals who label themselves as “self-aware,” “progressive,” and “liberated,” but they are more suited for a society of slaves than a society of free individuals. In essence, these concepts, particularly as used by “progressives,” could be viewed as a form of slavespeak. This simply means that they are utilized disingenuously to justify political oppression and subjugation.
Let’s identify and denounce them, one by one:
-
Misinformation/disinformation: While it appears to refer to false or misleading information that could be harmful, in slavespeak, it actually denotes information that certain individuals find disagreeable or inconvenient and wish to censor or eliminate from public discourse.
-
Far right: While it typically describes extreme political positions with violent tendencies, in slavespeak, “far right” is arbitrarily applied to any position that challenges the official narrative of the political Establishment.
-
Xenophobia: Traditionally indicating prejudice against foreigners, in slavespeak, xenophobia is used to label anyone who values national ties, defends national identity, or dissents from open border policies.
-
Hate speech: Originally referring to speech targeting specific groups with vitriolic language, in slavespeak, hate speech is any discourse critical of protected groups or their behavior/opinions, especially if it challenges the prevailing ideology.
-
Tolerance: While it implies peacefully tolerating differing views, in slavespeak, tolerance is the uncritical acceptance of every lifestyle, condemning any disapproval or criticism as intolerance.
-
Safe online experience: Initially about protecting the internet from harmful content, in slavespeak, it means purging political commentary that disrupts sanctioned narratives.
-
Health equity: Ostensibly about improving health access, in slavespeak, it signifies expanding bio-surveillance and coercive vaccination globally.
-
Digital inclusion: While focusing on access to digital technologies, in slavespeak, it involves digital censorship and financial control under the guise of inclusion.
-
Environmental sustainability: While aiming for a balanced relationship between nature and civilization, in slavespeak, it prioritizes nature over economic progress, demonizing industrialization.
-
Transphobia: Originally about hatred towards gender-confused individuals, in slavespeak, it accuses anyone valuing biology or questioning legal/social affirmation of gender identity.
-
Conspiracy theorist: Once referring to those promoting implausible conspiracies, in slavespeak, it dismisses evidence-based claims of harmful agendas as “conspiracy theories.”
