After feedback, ICE revises Encompass SDK transition timeline

Clients using ICE Mortgage Technology’s legacy Software Development Kit (SDK) technology on Encompass will have a six-month grace period from the original Oct. 31, 2025, transition deadline to the API-based platform before any charges apply.

The company views the new transition timeline as an “extension” rather than a delay, providing clients with additional assistance in migrating code to the more modern architecture on Encompass.

In an email to Encompass clients, ICE Mortgage Technology President Tim Bowler highlighted the importance of driving efficiency and enhancing the borrower experience. Clients transitioning to API-based solutions are seeing financial benefits and improved speed compared to SDK calls.

ICE announced that customers wanting to continue using SDK after Oct. 31, 2025, will need to sign up for transitional SDK access, with calls costing $0.50 per unit starting in May. The full sunsetting of SDK is slated for April 30, 2027.

ICE acknowledged the complexity of the transition for customers and announced a six-month, no-charge grace period following the October 2025 date. The company emphasized collaboration in determining the sunsetting date.

As reported by HousingWire, ICE is also sunsetting its legacy CRM and fully transitioning to the more modern Surefire technology.
