JetBlue Airways has recently been added as a transfer partner for Capital One cardholders as of February 18, 2025. This new partnership allows cardholders to transfer Capital One miles to JetBlue at a ratio of 5:3. For example, if you transfer 5,000 Capital One miles to JetBlue, you’ll receive 3,000 JetBlue TrueBlue points.
JetBlue was previously a transfer partner of Capital One but the partnership ended in 2021. For the past three years, Capital One did not have any domestic airline partners among its 17 transfer partners. In contrast, Chase, American Express, and Citi cardholders with certain cards have long had the ability to transfer their credit card rewards to JetBlue and other U.S.-based airlines.
Given that JetBlue is now a transfer partner, the question arises: Should you transfer Capital One miles to JetBlue’s TrueBlue program? The answer is likely no. Other credit card issuers offer more favorable transfer ratios for JetBlue than Capital One. However, if you need to top off your account, it’s good to have the option.
JetBlue Returns to Capital One’s Miles Transfer Program
The JetBlue TrueBlue program is now part of Capital One’s miles transfer programs. Most of these programs allow you to transfer Capital One miles at a 1:1 ratio to the corresponding airline or hotel program. The transfer to JetBlue is an exception, converting at a ratio of 5:3 to JetBlue TrueBlue points.
This transfer ratio adds a bit of complexity to the math. For instance, if you transfer 10,000 Capital One miles to JetBlue, you’ll only receive 6,000 JetBlue points. Capital One miles are typically valued at 1 cent when booking travel through the Capital One travel portal. Therefore, 10,000 Capital One miles would be worth $100 in the portal. In contrast, 6,000 JetBlue points would be worth $90 based on BW’s valuation of JetBlue points at 1.5 cents each.
It’s important to note that JetBlue uses a dynamic pricing model for its flights, meaning that point costs can vary depending on demand. Points may be more expensive on high-demand flights compared to less popular ones.

Other JetBlue Transfer Programs
In addition to Capital One, JetBlue participates in other transfer programs. This means that if you don’t have enough Capital One miles or not a Capital One card, there are other ways to earn more or top up your TrueBlue points for potential award redemptions. These programs include:
-
American Express Membership Rewards (transfer ratio 5:4).
-
Chase Ultimate Rewards® (transfer ratio 1:1).
-
Citi ThankYou Rewards (transfer ratio 1:1 for most cards; some cards 5:4).
If you have a Chase or Citi card that offers a 1:1 transfer ratio, it’s recommended to transfer those points instead of your Capital One miles or AmEx points. Even with AmEx and Citi’s 5:4 transfer ratios, you’ll still end up with more JetBlue points than you would with a Capital One transfer.
There are many great ways to use TrueBlue points. One of the favorites is finding low-priced, first-class JetBlue Mint seats on transcontinental or transatlantic flights where you can enjoy a fully-flat bed and onboard dining.
