Chase is making changes to its consumer credit card travel and purchase protection benefits, aiming to enhance user experience. The bank has partnered with Assurant, a Fortune 500 company, to administer these benefits, replacing eClaimsline. The update is set to take effect on Oct. 1, 2024, covering all brand and co-brand Chase credit cards. Affected cardholders will receive a guide outlining the new coverages by Aug. 15, 2024.
The changes include increased auto rental coverage limits, improved emergency evacuation services, and the addition of travel and emergency assistance on select cards such as Chase Freedom Flex®, Chase Freedom Unlimited®, IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card, and World of Hyatt Credit Card. Additionally, travel accident insurance limits will be raised on select products.
Lost luggage reimbursement and extended warranty protection are also being added to select products, with improved terms and coverage limits. Trip cancellation/interruption insurance on the United Gateway℠ Card is being upgraded to include more family members and qualifying reasons for claims.
