Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc (NYSE:) announced today that its Chief Financial Officer, Jack Hartung, will be retiring on March 31, 2025, after 23 years of service with the company. Hartung has been in the CFO role since 2002.
Adam Rymer, a seasoned Chipotle executive with 15 years of experience, will succeed Hartung as CFO starting January 1, 2025. Rymer, currently the Vice President of Finance, has been with Chipotle since 2009 and has been mentored by Hartung during his tenure.
Rymer will join Chipotle’s executive leadership team, reporting directly to Brian Niccol, Chairman and CEO. Hartung will remain in his position until the end of the year to facilitate a smooth transition.
Brian Niccol expressed his appreciation for Hartung’s contributions, stating, “Jack has been a key player in Chipotle’s growth and team development, and his impact has been significant.”
Reflecting on his time at Chipotle, Hartung said, “I am proud of the growth and success we have achieved during my time here, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such a talented team.”
Hartung expressed confidence in Rymer, stating, “I am confident that Adam’s experience and leadership will contribute to Chipotle’s continued success in the future.”
In addition, Jamie McConnell will be taking on the role of Chief Accounting and Administrative Officer starting January 1, 2025, reporting to Rymer. McConnell, currently the Vice President, Controller, joined Chipotle in 2018 and has been mentored by Hartung as well.
Hartung expressed his confidence in McConnell and the talented financial and accounting team at Chipotle, believing they will drive the company to new heights in the years to come.
