Crust Network has recently unveiled the EthDA Testnet, an innovative solution designed to enhance Data Availability (DA) for Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) platforms. By leveraging EIP-4844, EthDA aims to reduce costs and alleviate congestion, ultimately improving the efficiency and scalability of the Ethereum ecosystem.

EthDA Addresses Gas Prices and Congestion on Ethereum L1
With a focus on developing a robust DA network for Layer 2 solutions on Ethereum, EthDA seeks to combat high gas prices and congestion on Ethereum L1. By implementing zk-rollup and Blob-based DA interfaces, EthDA provides a cost-effective and scalable Ethereum solution. Its emphasis on optimization and security makes EthDA a valuable addition to the Ethereum network.
Several factors contributed to the creation of EthDA. Ethereum’s adoption of a roll-up strategy has led to an increased demand for DA solutions. As various L2 solutions emerge, the necessity for diverse and extensive DA solutions becomes apparent. Projects like Ethereum data shards and blob transactions based on danksharding (EIP-4844 proto-danksharding) are in progress, alongside independent Alt-DA solutions like Celestia, EigenDA, and Avail.
EthDA’s Testnet Offers Enhanced Solutions for Polygon Builders and Users
The growth of the L2 ecosystem has led to a need for larger-scale DA solutions, including validiums, optimiums, volition, L3s, and application-specific chains. EthDA aims to meet this demand and capitalize on the vast potential in the realm of Data Availability.
The Crust team comprises skilled blockchain specialists and decentralized storage developers with a wealth of experience in creating secure and efficient platforms. Their proficiency in Ethereum and zk-rollup technologies is crucial for designing data availability solutions on the Ethereum network.
Following the launch of its Devnet in March, EthDA has officially unveiled its Testnet after three months of training and development. EthDA is slated to be fully compatible with Polygon’s CDK framework, providing added value to Polygon builders and users. This integration will enhance the scalability of all CDK chains, offering a superior solution for the Polygon CDK and L2 ecosystem.
