An analyst in the crypto space has made a bold prediction, forecasting that Bitcoin (BTC) will reach $100,000 in the near future. However, the same analyst has cast doubt on the potential for altcoins to follow a similar upward trajectory to new record highs.
Bitcoin on Track for $100,000
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter) on June 8, a crypto analyst known as ‘DonAlt’ shared his views, expressing more confidence in Bitcoin than in altcoins. DonAlt is of the opinion that Bitcoin has the potential for a massive surge that could see its price hitting $100,000 in the coming years.
Altcoins Struggling to Keep Up
Despite the optimism surrounding Bitcoin, altcoins have been underperforming significantly, largely influenced by market trends and negative sentiment. As a result, DonAlt envisions a future where Bitcoin dominates the market while many altcoins plummet by 90% from their current values.
While some altcoins have shown promise in the past, many have failed to match Bitcoin’s performance in the current market cycle. This has led to a scenario where Bitcoin remains relatively stable, albeit slightly below its previous all-time high, while altcoins struggle to maintain their value.
Furthermore, concerns have been raised about the future of Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) as Bitcoin continues its upward trajectory. Despite recent gains, both Ethereum and Solana face uncertainty in the wake of Bitcoin’s potential surge.
Can Altcoins Catch Up?
Another analyst, known as ‘Doctor Profit,’ has released a report predicting a positive outlook for altcoins in the third quarter of 2024. The analyst believes that altcoins could see a significant increase in value following the launch of Ethereum Spot ETFs, potentially aligning with Bitcoin’s trajectory if market conditions improve.
Despite recent setbacks, the analyst sees the current dip in altcoins as a buying opportunity for investors, suggesting that a 35% correction could pave the way for a new bullish phase in the altcoin market.
Looking ahead, the analyst predicts that the overall market capitalization of altcoins could surpass $1 trillion by the end of the year, signaling potential growth and recovery in the altcoin space.
