Fall is here, and Discover is rolling out its latest 5% cash back bonus categories for the fourth quarter of 2025, just in time for your seasonal shopping needs. From Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, 2025, cardholders of eligible cards like the Discover it® Cash Back and Discover it® Student Cash Back can earn 5% back on purchases at Amazon.com and drugstores, up to $1,500 in combined quarterly spending (activation required), plus 1% back on all other purchases.
Whether you’re stocking up on essentials, getting a head start on Black Friday deals, or preparing for the holiday season, you have the opportunity to earn up to $75 in bonus cash back by activating these categories. Activation can be done by logging into your Discover account online or through the app, or by calling the number on the back of your card.

Discover’s Q4 2025 bonus cash-back categories
Amazon.com
The Amazon.com category returns from last year, offering bonus cash back on various purchases made through the online retailer, including digital downloads, Amazon Fresh orders, Amazon Local Deals, and Prime subscriptions. In-store purchases at Amazon Go and Amazon Fresh stores are also eligible. Please note that purchases at Whole Foods Market will not qualify for the 5% back rate, but will earn 1% back.
Drugstores
Earn bonus cash back on purchases made at standalone drugstores, pharmacies, and online pharmacies. If the pharmacy is located within a retailer, the purchase may only earn 1% back.
