Ethereum-based operating system ethOS recently introduced dGEN1, a cutting-edge hardware device designed for seamless interaction with blockchain dApps and running a lightweight client. This innovative device features a built-in browser and wallet, along with a dedicated screen that displays transaction notifications and metadata during network interactions.
ethOS has leveraged LineageOS and an Android fork to create a unique integration with its own Nimbus light client, ensuring that user data is securely verified when engaging with blockchain dApps, without the need for reliance on trusted third-party RPCs. Additionally, ethOS’s built-in browser supports IPFS and .eth domains for enhanced functionality.
The dGEN1 device is now available for pre-order through the minting of an NFT on the Base Layer 2 network, priced at 0.2 ETH ($520). The company anticipates shipping devices starting in the second quarter of 2025. As reported by Basescan, there are currently approximately 630 users holding NFTs.
