EY (Ernst & Young), a renowned global consulting and auditing firm, has recently introduced the EY Blockchain Privacy Sandbox. This innovative platform offers a web-based environment specifically designed for testing privacy-enabled smart contracts on public blockchains, catering to developers and companies utilizing Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible systems.
Powered by Starlight, an open-source tool developed by EY, the sandbox facilitates the conversion of standard Solidity contracts into privacy-enabled versions. By retaining the original contract logic while incorporating confidentiality features, developers can explore sample projects, customize them, and create proof-of-concept applications seamlessly within the platform.
Primarily aimed at early-stage experimentation, the EY Blockchain Privacy Sandbox enables companies to assess the performance of privacy-preserving smart contracts, examine various use cases, and validate technical feasibility prior to implementing the technology in operational systems.
