Flip The F*cking Table Over And Scream

Submitted by QTR’s Fringe Finance

Years ago, I had a friend who worked as a bouncer at a bar where I was employed in Philadelphia. We bonded over our shared interests in our twenties – beer, sports, gambling, and women.

The main differences between us were his short temper, difficulty controlling his emotions, and heavy drinking habits. Over time, we lost touch, only to unexpectedly meet at the airport after a decade apart.

During our catch-up, he explained that he had recently won $30,000 at a local casino’s poker game and was on his way to celebrate in a tropical destination.

Curious, I asked him about the dramatic win, and he recounted the moment he flipped the poker table in a fit of excitement, causing a scene that led to him being asked to leave.

While some may dismiss this story as exaggerated, having witnessed his similar outbursts in the past, I knew it was entirely plausible.

Reflecting on the upcoming election, I couldn’t help but draw parallels between his casino victory and the potential outcome of Tuesday’s political race. A Trump victory would be akin to finally beating the odds against an establishment that always seemed to have the upper hand.

I couldn’t shake the comparison of the ruling elite to the casino, taking advantage of its patrons while preaching about democracy and freedom. The media’s role in perpetuating this narrative only added to the disillusionment.

Recent incidents, such as baseless accusations and misleading reports, have eroded the public’s trust in mainstream media. The bias and falsehoods have pushed viewers towards alternative sources, signaling a shift in the media landscape.

As the election approaches, the possibility of a GOP victory looms large. It represents a chance to challenge the status quo, push back against censorship, and reclaim individual freedoms.

If the Democrats were to win, the trajectory of the country would likely continue along its current path, albeit at a faster pace. However, a GOP triumph could signify a seismic shift in the political landscape, heralding a new era of empowerment and accountability.

The nation stands at a crossroads, where the choice between the establishment and grassroots movements will shape its future. Just as my friend made a bold statement by flipping the poker table, the electorate has the opportunity to send a message through their vote.

Regardless of the outcome, the election will be a pivotal moment in our nation’s history, marking a turning point in our collective journey towards a more transparent and accountable government.

Note from QTR: This will be my last post about politics at least until after Election Day. If you haven’t yet, I urge you desperately to get to the polls on Tuesday and make your voice heard. Just like in 2020, this election may come down to single-digit numbers of votes in many places.
