The article was authored by Paul Sperry via RealClearInvestigations. During the Obama administration, officials manufactured U.S. intelligence linking Donald Trump to Moscow after his 2016 victory. They did not anticipate that Trump’s own political appointees would aid them in undermining his presidency and reelection chances. Key members of Trump’s cabinet and other appointees during his first term concealed evidence that discredited the fake Russiagate intelligence. This included former Special Counsel John Durham, former National Security Adviser John Bolton, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and former CIA Director Gina Haspel. They dismissed or buried evidence that cast doubt on the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) prepared in the Obama administration. The ICA framed the false narrative that Russian President Vladimir Putin had authorized dirty tricks to help Trump win the 2016 election. Trump-appointed officials facilitated the weaponization of the CIA against Trump by hiding evidence that exposed the claims as a fraud. This may have inadvertently helped Joe Biden win the 2020 election. John Bolton, Mike Pompeo, and Gina Haspel were among those who played a role in concealing this information. Every day, House investigators had to be cleared into a secure “read room” at Langley to review the records the CIA used to support the ICA. They were required to lock up their laptops and materials each night before leaving, with strict rules preventing them from taking any notes out of the workspace. Additionally, the investigators suspected the CIA of spying on their computers back on Capitol Hill, and reported that the agency had tampered with the computers they were forced to use within headquarters. Deliberate technical modifications to the computers made them unstable and unreliable, hindering the investigators’ work. Despite repeated requests for proper computers and software tools, they were denied access to efficient resources needed for their review. Pompeo and Haspel also restricted their access to Brennan’s hand-picked authors of the ICA, further obstructing their investigation. Haspel went on to lock up all drafts of the House Intelligence Committee report and demanded that it remain classified until after the 2020 election. Despite efforts to keep the report hidden, it was eventually declassified, leading to further scrutiny of the Obama administration’s actions. Durham claimed he was utilizing a confidential report prepared by two veteran House Intelligence Committee investigators in his examination of whether the FBI and CIA had politicized and weaponized intelligence against Trump. The former senior ODNI intelligence official revealed that Durham had requested the report remain classified to use in his investigation, but after receiving it along with other classified documents, Durham went silent. Despite the declassification of the report by Tulsi Gabbard, Durham did not include it in his final report on the Russiagate scandal. The report is now being used as evidence in criminal investigations of Obama-era officials, including Brennan. Critics believe Durham failed to thoroughly investigate the matter, contrasting his approach with that of the Mueller investigation. The ICA was highlighted as a key component in the alleged conspiracy against Trump, with claims that it was used as a basis for various investigations that hindered his presidency. The report also concealed the fact that the CIA relied on the Clinton-funded dossier to reach its conclusions. Concerns have been raised about the manipulation of intelligence that informed the ICA, with allegations that analysts were pressured to alter their assessments to align with the desired narrative.
After carefully reading the HPSCI report on the ICA, it is clear that Brennan and Clapper are portrayed as the true malevolent actors. It is revealed that both of them were aware of Hillary’s Russia operation against Trump right from the beginning.
When reached out for comment through their lawyers, Brennan and Clapper did not respond.
“They manipulated and politicized the intelligence,” commented Fleitz, emphasizing the blatant corruption evident in the report. Surprisingly, even Barr, Durham, Bolton, Pompeo, Haspel, and other Trump appointees chose to bury the scandal instead of exposing it.
