The Ikon Pass is a ski membership that grants access to a variety of ski resorts worldwide. The top-tier pass offers unlimited access to 17 Ikon Pass resorts and up to seven days per year at other resorts, along with buddy passes and discounts on food, drinks, and retail purchases.

For avid skiers who hit the slopes multiple times each winter, the Ikon Pass is a smart choice. With lift tickets typically costing between $200 and $300 per day, a single multiday ski trip can easily justify the pass’s cost.

With over 50 Ikon Pass mountains to choose from, passholders have plenty of options for skiing and snowboarding all around the world. However, access may vary depending on the type of pass you hold, with blackout dates applying to the Ikon Base Pass and Ikon Base Plus Pass.

In the United States, there are 39 Ikon Pass mountains, mainly concentrated in the Rockies and Northeastern states. International travelers can also enjoy 22 Ikon Pass resorts in various countries, including Southern Hemisphere locations that allow skiing year-round.

When planning a ski vacation, keep in mind that some resorts require reservations to prevent overcrowding and ensure a better experience on the slopes.

There are several ski pass options available, each offering different benefits and access to resorts. The Ikon Pass is the most comprehensive, providing unlimited access to numerous destinations, while the Ikon Base Pass and Ikon Base Plus Pass offer more limited access at a lower price point.

For those looking to save money without committing to a full season, the Ikon Session Pass allows for discounted access to multiple resorts for a set number of days.

Before purchasing a pass, consider which mountains you want to visit, when you plan to travel, and how many days you’ll spend skiing. Choosing the right pass can help you save money and make the most of your ski season.
