Tragedy struck in southern Iran as at least 85 individuals, predominantly young girls, lost their lives in an air strike on a primary school. The devastating attack on Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab, Hormozgan province, occurred amidst escalating strikes by the United States and Israel on various targets throughout Iran.

The victims, aged between seven and 12 years old, were described by Iran’s Tasnim and Fars news agencies. An anonymous staff member at the Minab school expressed shock at the ferocity of the assault, recounting how she witnessed the once lively school grounds transformed into a scene of unimaginable horror.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she described the haunting sight of lifeless bodies scattered across the school premises, where she once watched the young girls play joyfully. The sudden and deafening impact of the missile strike shook her to the core, leading her to witness the unimaginable aftermath.

As rescue efforts unfolded and the true extent of the tragedy emerged, the staff member lamented, “We still don’t know how many are under the rubble. Some are even saying more than 100.” The air strike left many trapped inside the school building, with 45 reported injuries among the 170 female students present during the attack.

Footage shared by Telegram accounts linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps captured the frantic efforts to unearth survivors from the rubble, amidst scenes of chaos and devastation. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the attack, vowing that the loss of innocent children would not go unanswered.

The assault on the school in Minab was part of a series of coordinated strikes across Iran, including in the capital city of Tehran and other major urban centers. The death toll from these attacks is yet to be determined, with reports indicating that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was moved to a secure location.

US President Donald Trump defended the joint military operation as necessary to eliminate perceived threats from the Iranian regime, asserting, “Our objective is to defend the American people by eliminating threats from the Iranian regime.” Amidst escalating tensions, Trump made bold declarations about US military actions and objectives without providing concrete evidence.
