Japan stocks saw an uptick in trading on Thursday, with gains in various sectors driving the market higher.
By the end of the trading day in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 index had risen by 0.62%.
Among the top performers were T&D Holdings, Inc. with a 12.80% increase, Tokyo Electron Ltd. with a 6.74% gain, and Casio Computer Co., Ltd. with a 6.64% rise.
Conversely, Ricoh Co., Ltd. experienced a 5.08% decline, Advantest Corp. fell by 3.48%, and Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co Ltd was down by 3.32%.
On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the number of rising stocks surpassed declining ones significantly.
The volatility index for Nikkei 225 options dropped to a new 3-month low.
In commodities trading, crude oil prices saw a slight decrease, with both Brent oil and gold futures also experiencing declines.
Currency exchange rates showed the USD/JPY pair rising by 0.34%, while EUR/JPY also saw a slight increase.
The US Dollar Index Futures rose by 0.19%.
