Max Boot, a known advocate of ‘forever wars’ and a proponent of Trump-Russia conspiracy theories, has been implicated in a new indictment unveiled on Wednesday. He is married to Sue Mi Terry, a former CIA employee and South Korean spy who allegedly used her foreign policy expertise to trade access to top US officials for luxury goods and extravagant dinners.
The indictment accuses Terry of disclosing sensitive US government information to South Korean intelligence and influencing US policy in favor of South Korea over a decade, in exchange for money and luxury gifts. Despite being warned by the FBI in 2014 about potential illegal foreign influence, Terry continued her activities.
Terry, who served in various US government roles from 2001-2011, allegedly accepted bribes and shared non-public information with South Korean officials. She was caught passing intelligence to her South Korean handler, including handwritten notes from a private meeting with the US Secretary of State. Terry was visibly nervous during an interview with federal authorities and eventually admitted to meeting with her handler.
If convicted, Terry faces up to five years in prison and was released on a $500,000 bond after her initial court appearance. The indictment also revealed that Boot and Terry collaborated on publishing South Korean propaganda in the Washington Post.
Additionally, Boot supported Rep. Eric Swalwell, who was linked to a Chinese spy. The unfolding of these events has sparked widespread astonishment and disbelief.
