With more experience in AI technology, Packer recently discussed the importance of curation as Longbridge continues to enhance its in-house tools.

AI and Ageism

Packer emphasized the need for clarity on the dynamics of senior-friendly AI usage. He referenced a 2024 study titled “Is AI ageist?” that compared different large language models for ageist tendencies.

Bill Packer

Packer noted that biases may have influenced the qualitative study’s results, emphasizing the importance of careful consideration in addressing ageism concerns in AI development.

He also highlighted the significance of innovation while preserving human involvement in the AI ecosystem, a balance that Longbridge excels at maintaining.

Careful Hand in Training

Longbridge takes a cautious approach by ensuring its data is not used in training publicly available AI tools, prioritizing onshore data usage and internal testing procedures.

Packer discussed the extensive development process of Bridget, Longbridge’s AI tool, emphasizing the meticulous attention to detail to create a tool that resonates with customers and avoids potential issues.

Digital Natives

Packer shared his experience with technology tools and highlighted the importance of tools like Microsoft Copilot in assisting users with information recall. He emphasized the role of such tools in leveling the playing field for non-digital natives in competing with younger generations.
