A manhunt that lasted several days ended on Sunday night with the capture of Vance Boelter, a 57-year-old individual who was previously appointed by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, operates multiple NGOs, and is suspected of being involved in a political assassination. Boelter stands accused of the heinous crime of murdering a Minnesota state lawmaker and her husband, as well as injuring two others.

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, after diligent efforts, managed to apprehend Boelter in Sibley County. Prior to his capture, Boelter had fatally shot former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark. He also injured State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, in a separate incident.
Chief Mark Bruley of the Brooklyn Park Police Department stated that over 20 SWAT teams were involved in the extensive manhunt, which he described as the largest in the state’s history.

Boelter’s LinkedIn profile revealed his role as the CEO of the Red Lion Group hotel, based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Additionally, he and his wife, Jennifer, operate a security service called Praetorian Guard Security Services LLC.
Furthermore, Boelter has ties to various NGOs operating overseas, including the Red Lion Group and “You Give Them Something to Eat, Inc.”

According to the New York Post, Boelter left behind a manifesto containing the names of 70 politicians, including Gov. Walz and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, along with papers stating “No Kings” in reference to nationwide protests against Trump.
