Virgin Atlantic’s new Clubhouse at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) deviates from the typical beachy California vibe, instead opting for old Hollywood glamour and rock ‘n’ roll history. This plush, velvety lounge is the fourth U.S. location and the sixth worldwide.
The lounge’s design, local cuisine, and focus on wellness capture the essence of the city. With a touch of star power reminiscent of L.A.’s celebrity scene, guests might even run into a reality TV personality. As a nod to the city’s culture, Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson and actor Alan Cumming have contributed to the lounge’s ambiance.
I had the opportunity to experience the lounge before its public opening on March 28, 2025. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect.
Who Can Access the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse?
The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse is open to:
-
Virgin’s Upper Class passengers, as well as one guest traveling with Virgin Atlantic or Delta Air Lines. Upper Class is the airline’s equivalent of business class.
-
Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold members, with one guest traveling internationally with Virgin Atlantic or Delta Air Lines.
-
Delta One customers on a Delta Air Lines international flight.
-
SkyTeam Elite Plus members traveling on Virgin Atlantic or Delta, with one guest traveling on an international flight operated by a SkyTeam carrier.
Where is the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at LAX?
Located on the sixth floor of the Tom Bradley International terminal at LAX, next to the Star Alliance lounge, the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse requires guests to ascend two escalators from the main floor’s shopping area. If you’re having trouble finding it, look for the P.F. Chang’s restaurant and take the escalator up a level.
Operating hours are from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. daily.
Design
The lounge, covering 4,400 square feet and accommodating around 70 seated guests, offers an exclusive experience for Upper Class passengers, avoiding overcrowding common in other lounges.

The centerpiece of the lounge is the bar’s lighting, featuring a mesmerizing ombre effect that simulates L.A.’s sunset. This unique feature aims to regulate guests’ circadian rhythm and connect them to natural light despite the lounge’s lack of windows.

The bar seating extends to the right to allow more guests to enjoy the captivating light. Convenient bag hooks and charging outlets are located under the bar for added convenience.
