- ProCap BTC, LLC aims to strategically acquire Bitcoin to generate revenue and profits from its holdings.
- The growing adoption of Bitcoin as a treasury asset is promising but comes with risks.
Anthony Pompliano, Founder and CEO of Professional Capital Management, recently announced a $1 billion merger to establish ProCap Financial, a Bitcoin-native financial services firm.
In a tweet on X, Pompliano explained,
“The company will become a publicly traded entity on Nasdaq following the proposed business combination between my private company ProCap BTC, LLC and Columbus Circle Capital Corp I, a publicly traded SPAC. The current ticker for the publicly traded entity is $CCCM.”
With a $750 million funding round, Pompliano highlighted,
“As part of the business combination, I have raised over $750 million, marking the largest initial fundraise in history for a publicly-traded bitcoin treasury company.”
He also mentioned that ProCap plans to develop,
“Products and services to generate revenue and profit from the bitcoin on our balance sheet over time.”
ProCap BTC, LLC joins the ranks of companies adding Bitcoin to their balance sheets, following the footsteps of notable examples like Michael Saylor’s Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy).
Pompliano’s announcement comes after Trump Media’s $2.5 billion raise for incorporating BTC into its treasury and GameStop’s adoption of Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset.
While investors may welcome the trend of corporate finance exploring Bitcoin treasury strategies, analysts caution that it poses systematic risks for the entire crypto sector.

The share of Bitcoin held by addresses with 10-1000 BTC has been steadily increasing since late March, indicating growing demand among mid-sized holders. Conversely, whales (wallets with 1000+ BTC) showed a decrease in holdings, signaling a redistribution among larger market participants, while smaller holders continued to accumulate more Bitcoin.
