Realtor.com has recently acquired Zenlist, a collaborative home search app, as announced early Monday morning in a press release.

Launched in 2016, Zenlist enables buyer’s agents and clients to search for properties together. The app features an in-app communication system where agents and homebuyers can share listings, exchange notes on potential homes, and plan property tours using Google Maps. It also includes an agent dashboard that provides insights into client activities such as viewed listings, saved properties, and inquiries made.

Zenlist aggregates property data from multiple listing services (MLSs) and has established partnerships with prominent MLSs and brokerages including Houwzer, Baird & Warner, and the San Francisco Association of Realtors (SFAR) MLS. Currently, the app boasts a user base of over 35,000 agents.

In a 2022 review by Inman tech expert Craig Rowe, Zenlist received a four-star rating for its user-friendly interface that enhances agent-client engagement and facilitates effective communication within the platform, allowing agents to create compelling narratives about properties and services.

Anna Marie Castiglioni, Realtor.com

“We are thrilled to be joining forces with Realtor.com and see this acquisition as a tremendous opportunity for our clients and team,” said Tom MacLeod, founder and CEO of Zenlist. “By leveraging Realtor.com’s reputation and reach, we can improve our platform, expand our services, and continue providing top-notch tools and services to a wider range of industry partners and professionals.”

Anna Marie Castiglioni, head of Realtor.com Next, stated that the acquisition of Zenlist aligns with Realtor.com’s mission to empower agents and consumers with cutting-edge technology and tools to navigate the evolving real estate market.

“As the real estate landscape undergoes significant changes, Realtor.com is committed to investing in innovative technology and resources that empower our industry partners and real estate professionals to adapt, thrive, and anticipate future trends,” Castiglioni explained. “The acquisition of Zenlist is a step forward in that direction.”

“Through Zenlist, our goal is to deliver a more modern, transparent, and collaborative experience for homebuyers and sellers, emphasizing trust, openness, and innovation in a time where these values are more crucial than ever,” she added.
