Russia Offers To Remove All Enriched Uranium From Iran

In the midst of potential upcoming talks between the US and Iran, disagreements persist on the scope of the discussions. While Washington is pushing for a broader agenda that includes Tehran’s ballistic missile arsenal, Iran has firmly rejected this proposal, casting doubt on the success of the talks. However, Russia has now put forward a significant offer that could potentially change the trajectory of the negotiations.

According to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, Moscow is willing to take possession of Iran’s remaining enriched uranium. This move is seen as a gesture of goodwill and a possible solution to the current impasse. Zakharova emphasized that Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles are in compliance with its obligations under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, reaffirming Iran’s peaceful intentions in its nuclear program.

This offer from Russia is not unprecedented, as the country has previously proposed similar solutions. The urgency of the current situation is highlighted by President Trump’s recent threats of military action against Iran. Despite the potential resolution offered by Russia, the US’s demands extend beyond nuclear issues, complicating the negotiations.

In response to questions about Iran’s Supreme Leader, Trump issued a warning, suggesting that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei should be concerned about the possibility of US military intervention. This statement further underscores the tension surrounding the talks and the potential consequences of failed negotiations.
