Russia stocks saw a positive end to the week on Friday, with gains in the technology, consumer goods, and energy sectors driving shares higher.
By the closing bell in Moscow, the MOEX Index was up by 0.71%.
Leading the session were Rostelekom PJSC, which increased by 2.45%, GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS, up by 1.69%, and TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin, rising by 1.56%.
On the flip side, TKS Holding MKPAO, Surgutneftegas PJSC Pref, and VK Company Ltd were among the session’s worst performers.
Overall, rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange, with the volatility index up by 3.64%.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures edged lower while Crude oil prices saw gains. The currency market saw the USD/RUB pair rising and EUR/RUB falling.
The US Dollar Index Futures also showed an increase at the closing of the session.
