The top business travel cards according to BW are The Business Platinum Card® from American Express and the Capital One Venture X Business. Deciding between the two comes down to the perks you prioritize and how much effort you’re willing to put in to maximize them.

The Capital One Venture X Business Card is straightforward, offering a high rewards rate and a $300 annual travel credit that almost offsets its $395 annual fee. On the other hand, The Business Platinum Card offers a lower reward rate but a plethora of perks, including discounts on software and travel. If you can fully utilize these extras each year, the card’s $695 annual fee may be worth it, although it requires more effort.

In terms of bonuses, the Venture X Business Card currently offers up to 350,000 bonus miles, while The Business Platinum Card offers 150,000 Membership Rewards® points and a $500 statement credit for qualifying flights.

When it comes to rewards, the Venture X Business Card earns 2x-10x miles, while The Business Platinum Card earns 1x-5x points on most purchases.

Both cards come with various perks, such as travel credits, lounge access, and statement credits. The Venture X Business Card has simpler benefits, while The Business Platinum Card offers a wide range of perks, including access to Centurion lounges.

In terms of payment flexibility, the Venture X Business Card is a charge card, requiring full payment each month. The Business Platinum Card allows for pay-in-full and pay-over-time options.

Ultimately, the Capital One Venture X Business Card is recommended for most businesses due to its lower annual fee and higher rewards rate. However, if elite status and access to Centurion lounges are important to you, The Business Platinum Card from American Express may be the better choice.
