A conversation between Donald Trump and X owner Elon Musk has attracted more than one billion views, as Trump officially made a comeback to the platform on Monday.
Elon noted this after the two-hour discussion between them.
The total number of views for the conversation with @realDonaldTrump and subsequent discussions by other accounts now stands at around 1 billion https://t.co/s8x8QmdmnY

Trump also resumed posting on X, with an ad that has garnered 42 million views at the time of writing:

The conversation was livestreamed on X spaces, although it had to overcome significant technical challenges due to a sustained DDOS attack on the platform shortly before the stream began.

The attack followed relentless criticism from traditional media outlets, who complained about Musk allowing Trump to express himself freely.
Axios’ @sarafischer: “@elonmusk will let Donald Trump speak all of the falsehoods & misinformation that he wants. I mean, he’s not a journalist … Does he want to be fact-checking all the information? So I think it’s just a platform for Trump to come out and say whatever he wants.” pic.twitter.com/13w1MVzzGD

Oh, the horror of allowing a presidential candidate to speak his mind and letting people hear him without censorship.
The meltdowns have already begun, and he hasn’t even started posting anything substantial yet. pic.twitter.com/iX43U5tWJE

Why do you think Trump joined the platform in the first place?!
Earlier, a Washington Post ‘journalist’ called for the White House to intervene and prevent the conversation from taking place.
The Washington Post’s Cleve Wootson: “One more, @ElonMusk is scheduled to interview [@realDonaldTrump] tomorrow — tonight on — on @X. I don’t know if the president is going to — feel free to say if he is or not — but I — I think that misinformation on Twitter is not just a campaign… pic.twitter.com/zKxJNF1zbf

They operate within a small bubble and simply cannot comprehend that they do not control all information on the planet.
I am amazed at how these young journalists easily dismiss the voting bloc that does not rely on CNN or The Spew for news. https://t.co/fjM5BYv2PQ

The Harris campaign had their best PR intern in their twenties draft a post filled with anxiety, avoiding addressing the actual content of the conversation between Musk and Trump, and focusing on the technical difficulties as a form of criticism.
The 20-something Kamala PR person can’t comprehend that it wasn’t a staged fawning phone call from a reality show, but rather a substantial and real conversation, with technical issues because it wasn’t scripted and rehearsed until ‘perfect’. https://t.co/nk6CkZQMme

They are accustomed to heavily staged soundbites that belong in poorly produced reality TV shows that nobody watches, and are not used to genuine, substantial conversations happening.
Cringe Beyond Belief: Harris ‘Calls’ Walz To Ask Him To Be Running Mate
Musk extended an invitation to Harris to join him for a conversation, although she is unlikely to accept the offer to appear on one of the largest platforms globally, as she struggles to deviate from scripted dialogue without appearing unprepared.
LOL – she’s too dumb and fake to do a real interview.

The media also seized on the ‘they couldn’t even run a livestream’ narrative.
The media is afraid that both Elon and Trump left a positive impression on their audience, portraying them as likable individuals who prioritize the greater good. The media is worried about its diminishing relevance as X provides unfiltered access… pic.twitter.com/4kIOeb08OC

Let’s see CNN or MSNBC attempt to host a livestream with millions of viewers while combating a cyber attack.
Outside of the US, Elon received threats from the European Union in the form of a letter from Thierry Breton, the current Commissioner for Internal Market of the EU,
In direct response to the conversation with Trump, Breton demanded that X crack down on “content that promotes hatred, disorder, incitement to violence, or certain instances of disinformation.”
Musk’s response was a meme telling Breton to “Fuck your own face.”
I really wanted to reply with this Tropic Thunder meme, but I would NEVER do something so rude & irresponsible! https://t.co/jL0GDW5QUx pic.twitter.com/XhUxCSGFNP
