Plume Network, backed by Galaxy Ventures, has recently unveiled its public mainnet, Plume Genesis. This groundbreaking platform is the first of its kind, offering a complete blockchain and ecosystem tailored specifically for real-world asset finance (RWAfi). Unlike previous endeavors that primarily focused on tokenizing assets, Plume Genesis sets itself apart by providing infrastructure designed to seamlessly integrate RWAs into DeFi applications.
With its launch, Plume Genesis already boasts on-chain institutional-grade RWAs from renowned firms like Superstate, Blackstone, and Invesco. The network currently supports over $150 million in real-world asset capital and is home to more than 200 announced projects. Additionally, it offers access to liquidity across various asset classes. The ecosystem features a combination of RWAfi-native and established DeFi applications, including Morpho, Curve, Orderly, Matrixdock, Lorenzo, Rooster, Solera, and Mystic.
Plume’s objective is to enable RWA tokens to function similarly to native crypto tokens within DeFi systems, granting users access to traditional asset classes while leveraging tools such as lending, yield farming, and leveraged trading. The platform’s long-term goal is to onboard more than $4 billion in assets.
A key highlight is Nest, Plume’s proprietary RWAfi protocol. Nest features institutional-grade vaults where users can stake stablecoins to gain exposure to RWAs and, in return, receive yield-bearing RWA tokens. These tokens can then be used as collateral in DeFi applications to access additional capital and investment strategies.
Plume is actively collaborating with regulators and policymakers in key regions such as the U.S., Europe, the UAE, and Asia to help shape crypto and capital market frameworks. This includes ongoing discussions with U.S. lawmakers, the Treasury Department, the SEC, as well as officials in Hong Kong and Europe.
In upcoming updates, Plume plans to diversify the types of tokenized RWAs available on the platform. These may encompass unconventional categories like fine art, precious metals, vehicles, uranium, and even trading cards, expanding the potential applications of RWAfi.
