Colombia stocks higher at close of trade; COLCAP up 2.02%

Colombia stocks saw a positive trend at the close of trading on Friday, with gains in various sectors driving the market higher.

By the end of the trading day, the Colombia Stock Exchange rose by 2.02%, reaching a new 1-month high.

Top performers included Etb (BVC:), which saw a 1.88% increase, closing at 81.50. Organizacion Terpel SA (BVC:) also rose by 1.51% to end at 9,400.00, while Bancolombia SA (BVC:) showed a gain of 1.46% to reach 36,180.00.

On the other hand, Bolsa De Valores De Colombia (BVC:) experienced a decline of 4.47%, closing at 10,680.00. Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana SA (BVC:) and Grupo Energia Bogota SA ESP (BVC:) also saw decreases in their stock prices.

The Colombia Stock Exchange witnessed more falling stocks than rising ones.

In commodities trading, US coffee C for December delivery decreased by 1.70% to $243.38. Meanwhile, US cocoa for December delivery rose by 0.88% to $7,680.00, and the December Gold Futures contract fell by 0.95% to $2,535.90 per troy ounce.

Exchange rates showed an increase in USD/COP by 1.31% to 4,180.50, and in BRL/COP by 1.69% to 745.44. The US Dollar Index Futures also saw a 0.39% increase, reaching 101.67.
