Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 2.17%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks experienced a decline at the end of trading on Friday, with the , and sectors leading the way down.

By the close of trading in Mexico, the dropped by 2.17%.

Among the top performers on the were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:), which saw a 3.61% increase of 4.20 points to close at 118.26. Additionally, Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) rose by 2.61% or 1.80 points to finish at 70.47, while Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:) gained 2.09% or 3.76 points to reach 182.98 by the end of the session.

On the other hand, the worst performers included Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:), which saw a decline of 3.46% or 1.94 points, closing at 53.91. Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:) also fell by 2.21% or 8.20 points to end at 361.43, and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:) decreased by 1.73% or 3.57 points to 201.45.

The Mexico Stock Exchange saw 111 falling stocks compared to 107 advancing ones, with 8 remaining unchanged.

Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) recorded a 52-week low, dropping by 3.46% or 1.94 to 53.91.

In commodity trading, Gold Futures for December delivery decreased by 0.95% or 24.40 to $2,535.90 per troy ounce. Crude oil for delivery in October fell by 2.98% or 2.26 to $73.65 per barrel, while the November Brent oil contract dropped by 2.18% or 1.72 to trade at $77.10 per barrel.

USD/MXN decreased by 0.55% to 19.73, while EUR/MXN fell by 0.89% to 21.79.

The US Dollar Index Futures saw an increase of 0.39% at 101.67.
