U.S. stocks higher at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.81%

After the close on Friday, U.S. stocks saw gains, with the tech, financial, and healthcare sectors leading the way higher.

On the NYSE, the S&P 500 rose 0.81% to reach a new all-time high, while the Dow Jones index climbed 0.90%, and the Nasdaq index gained 1.21%.

Some top performers on the NYSE included Boeing Co, JPMorgan Chase & Co, and American Express Company, while Home Depot Inc, Verizon Communications Inc, and Procter & Gamble Company were among the worst performers.

On the S&P 500, Albemarle Corp, United Airlines Holdings Inc, and Deckers Outdoor Corporation were the top performers, while Transdigm Group Incorporated, Extra Space Storage Inc, and Equifax Inc were the worst performers.

Over on the NASDAQ Composite, Biodexa Pharmaceuticals PLC DRC, Streamline Health Solutions Inc, and LakeShore Biopharma Co Ltd were the top performers, while Color Star Technology Co Ltd, Fangdd Network Group Ltd, and iCoreConnect Inc were the worst performers.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on both the NYSE and the Nasdaq Stock Exchange.

Some notable stock movements included United Airlines Holdings Inc reaching 3-year highs, American Express Company hitting all-time highs, and Biodexa Pharmaceuticals PLC DRC reaching 5-year lows.

The CBOE Volatility Index was down 6.25% to 19.21.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery and Crude oil for delivery in November saw some movement, while the EUR/USD and USD/JPY currency pairs also experienced fluctuations.

The US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.48% at 102.24.
