Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.77%

On Wednesday, Mexico stocks closed higher, with gains in the , and sectors driving the market up.

By the end of the trading day, the saw a 0.77% increase.

Leading the session were Regional SAB de CV (BMV:), which surged 5.79% or 7.03 points to 128.50, Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV:) with a 5.61% increase to 45.71, and Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:) up by 4.63% to 170.24.

Conversely, the worst performers included Becle SA (BMV:) dropping 3.08% to 20.75, Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) declining 2.91% to 39.74, and Kimberly – Clark De Mexico A (BMV:) down 2.66% to 28.91.

During the session, rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange, with 164 stocks gaining, 71 losing, and 19 remaining unchanged.

Becle SA (BMV:) hit all-time lows, falling 3.08% to 20.75, while Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) reached 52-week lows, dropping 2.91% to 39.74.

Gold Futures for February delivery rose 1.39% to $2,719.69 per troy ounce, while Crude oil and Brent oil contracts for delivery in March increased by 3.55% and 3.14%, respectively.

USD/MXN was down 0.20% at 20.46, and EUR/MXN fell 0.33% to 21.06. The US Dollar Index Futures also decreased by 0.13% to 108.97.
