Trump Warns Iran Of Unprecedented Bombing Campaign If Nuke Deal Not Reached

President Trump issued a direct threat to Iran, stating that if they do not make a deal, there will be bombing like they have never seen before. This threat follows similar rhetoric from the White House in recent weeks. Three weeks ago, Trump sent a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader, urging new negotiations for a nuclear deal. In the letter, Trump set a two-month deadline for Iran to sign a new deal, warning of potential military action if they do not comply. Recent reports have noted the deployment of B-2 stealth bombers to the Indian Ocean, indicating a possible military action against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Iran has underground missile cities that would make it challenging to eliminate their ballistic missile capabilities without a sustained war. A new war in the Middle East under the Trump administration could be unpopular among the public, including his conservative base. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian responded to Trump’s threats by stating that future diplomatic discussions depend on the behavior of the United States. Iran has expressed willingness to engage in negotiations but has emphasized the importance of the US honoring agreements.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reported that Iran’s current stockpile of enriched uranium could potentially produce nuclear bombs. Trump has reinstated ‘maximum pressure’ on Iran and suggested cracking down on sanctions-busting Iranian oil exports. He has also mentioned the possibility of imposing secondary tariffs on Iranian oil. In a previous interview, Trump highlighted Israel’s potential military action against Iran and expressed a preference for a diplomatic deal over military intervention.
